Brendon is a litigation and arbitration specialist with particular focuses on sports law,
construction, commercial disputes, and insolvency.
He has handled construction disputes across the project spectrum, representing all stakeholders:
developers, contractors, and agents in adjudications, arbitrations, and litigation. He is familiar
with standard form contracts such as NEC Agreements and JBCC Agreements.
He represents professional football and rugby clubs, players, and sporting bodies in
employment, regulatory, and contractual matters. Brendon has appeared before the Court of
Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne and in FIFA-related disputes, as well as before
domestic courts and disciplinary tribunals.
In addition to his trial and appellate work, he is frequently instructed as lead or junior counsel
in international arbitrations in Switzerland, France, Australia and the SADAC region.
He also acts in complex commercial, tax, and employment litigation and has represented clients
in high-value insolvency and business rescue proceedings. In addition to his practice, Brendon
accepts appointments as an arbitrator, mediator, and disciplinary chairperson. He is a member
of Young AFSA.
He holds an LL.B degree, an Advanced Certificate in Business Rescue from UNISA, and is
currently completing an LL.M focused on parole reform and administrative law.
