Clinton specialises in construction law, with an emphasis on construction guarantees. Given that most standard form building contracts provide for alternative dispute resolution, Clinton is well-versed in mediations, adjudications and arbitrations; both domestic and international. Clinton has represented employers and contractors in a variety of projects including power plants (carbon fuels, solar and wind), mines, roads, sludge digestors, shopping malls, railways, office and residential buildings, hospitals and municipal infrastructure.

Clinton is often called upon to sit as the arbitrator, adjudicator or mediator in construction law disputes, and has also acted as a judge of the High Court of South Africa. As counsel, Clinton’s practise is largely in arbitrations however, on occasion, he does appear in the High Courts of South Africa and Botswana.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Clinton is a man whose faith is of primary importance to him. He is also passionate about transferring skills and uplifting young professionals. To that end, Clinton has presented lectures to pupil advocates as well as in courses on alternative dispute resolution facilitated by the University of Pretoria and AFSA.
