Maisels Group Members

Mahon has acted as a judge of both the North and South Gauteng High Courts on a number of occasions.

He has acted for a number of JSE listed entities, banks, mining companies, construction companies and national political parties.

He has acted in a number of leading cases dealing with Business Rescue, Insider Trading and Market Abuse and the interpretation of the provisions of the Companies Act 71 of 2008. He also practices in the field of blockchain and crypto asset regulation.

He manages the South African Commercial Law blog at www.sacommerciallaw.com. Mahon is the founder of the Mahon Foundation, a charitable foundation focusing on education based initiatives within South Africa (www.mahonfoundation.org). In 2013 he was featured in the Mail & Guardian’s list of 200 Young South Africans. He is admitted to practice in Botswana, where he has represented government parastatals in various matters and has prepared opinions for consideration by Cabinet and Government departments.

He has written numerous articles which have been published online and in a number of legal publications.

His articles have been cited with approval by the High Court of South Africa and quoted in judgments of that court.
