Ushir has a general commercial practice with a particular focus on banking law, aviation law, insolvency law, constitutional and administrative law, regulatory law, health care and medical scheme law, provincial and local government law, and insurance law.
Prior to joining the Bar, Ushir practiced as an attorney in the commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution department at an international law firm in Sandton for a period of six years.
As a director in the commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution department, he was involved in a wide variety of cases which covered constitutional and administrative law, as well as health care and medical scheme regulation, public law, including provincial and local government law, and insurance law.
Notably, he was the lead attorney in various matters which were in various courts, including the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal, with a few reported judgments such as:
